Custom Pole Spacing and Height for Pool Fences – What You Need to Know

Can I Order Custom Pole Spacing or Fence Height?

We often receive questions about whether All-Safe pool fencing can be customized beyond our standard options. Here’s everything you need to know about custom pole spacing, custom fence height, and how to plan a custom layout for your pool.

Standard All-Safe Pool Fence Sections

All-Safe pool fence sections come pre-assembled for easy installation. Each section includes:

  • 6 poles spaced evenly every 36 inches
  • 15 feet of mesh per section
  • Available heights: 4 feet or 5 feet

These standard sections meet most safety and design needs for pool areas.

Why 36-Inch Pole Spacing Is Standard

Our standard 36-inch pole spacing is designed to provide:

  • ASTM-compliant safety for removable mesh pool fencing
  • Strong, stable sections that resist sagging
  • A clean look that maintains visibility around your pool

This spacing balances safety, durability, and aesthetics.

Custom Pole Spacing

Yes, you can create custom pole spacing!

If you need a different pole spacing — like 30 inches, 33 inches, or another dimension — you can order:

  • Individual poles
  • Mesh Rolls (15 feet) or Gate Mesh Rolls (30 inches wide)

This allows you to assemble your fence on-site and cut mesh to fit your exact layout.

Tip: Custom spacing can add time and complexity to your project. Be sure to plan carefully and consider ordering extra materials.

Custom Fence Height

No, we don’t offer custom fence heights.

Our fences come in 4-foot and 5-foot heights only.

However, if you have special circumstances — like steps, slopes, planters, or retaining walls — we do offer custom components to raise mesh heights in specific areas.

Product Compatibility

  • All-Safe mesh, poles, and hardware are designed to work together for best results.
  • When using custom components or mixing brands, double-check compatibility (pole size, sleeve fit, etc.).
  • Not all pole styles or finishes may be available for custom builds — contact us for help choosing the right parts.

Ordering & Planning Tips

  • Allow extra time to plan and assemble custom configurations.
  • Consider ordering a few extra poles and extra mesh length as a backup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I order fence sections with different pole spacing already assembled?
A: No. Custom pole spacing requires ordering mesh and poles separately and assembling them on-site.

Q: Can I get a fence taller than 5 feet?
A: We don’t offer custom-height panels, but we do provide components to add mesh heights in specific areas.

Q: What’s the maximum distance I can space the poles?
A: We recommend staying close to 36 inches. Wider spacing can reduce strength and may not meet ASTM safety standards.

Q: Can I mix All-Safe parts with another brand?
A: Yes, many customers with brands like LifeSaver, Guardian, Pool Guard, and others have successfully used All-Safe parts for repairs or upgrades. However, we always recommend using All-Safe components together for best compatibility and safety. If mixing brands, be sure to double-check measurements—such as pole diameter and sleeve size—to ensure a proper fit.

Color Variations

Colors on your screen or brochure may not match the actual color of your product.

Due to the many variations in monitors, phones, and browsers, color samples and product examples may appear different on different screens. Computers and mobile devices are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. The same is true for printed items such as brochures and other sales literature.

In addition, the colors of our products photograph differently under different lighting conditions. For example, photos taken in full sunlight will vary from photos taken on a cloudy or overcast day. Similarly, shadows from nearby objects can affect the color and transparency of our products. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Colors will vary from batch to batch.

Many of our products’ materials are not available through typical stores and vendors and therefore must be custom manufactured specifically for our use. In order to control costs and provide you with the best value possible, our raw materials are produced in large batches and can often take several months to receive. The colors of our materials can, and often do, vary slightly from batch to batch. Although we make every effort to minimize color variations, we cannot be responsible for these differences when they occur. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Color names are subjective and may not be what you think the color should be.

For example, we use the name “putty” to describe some of our products. Your idea of the color “putty” may be different than someone else’s idea of “putty”. In addition, products may have the same color name but may not be the exact same color. For example, we have different shades of “black”. Please do not order using color names as your only guide. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

If it is important that your product be an exact color or shade, it is highly recommended that you inspect the actual product prior to its installation and address any concerns with your local independent installer. Most independent installers do not offer refunds or accept returns due to color variations.
