Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Corner Post the same as a Gate Post?

No. Although Corner Posts and Gate Posts may look similar, they serve two very different purposes.

A Corner Post is designed to create clean 45° to 90° turns in a removable pool fence while maintaining proper fence tension and alignment.

A Gate Post is designed to support a self-closing pool fence gate and is engineered to withstand the forces created by the gate hinges and latch.

Corner Posts cannot be used as Gate Posts, and Gate Posts cannot be used in place of Corner Posts. If you’re unsure which part your installation requires, send us a few photos of your layout and we’ll be happy to help.

When do I need a Corner Post?

A Corner Post is recommended whenever your removable pool fence changes direction by approximately 45° to 90°. It provides a cleaner, stronger corner than forcing a standard fence section to bend around the turn.

Can I make a corner without a Corner Post?

Yes, in some situations. Smaller turns can often be made using the flexibility of the fence mesh or by creating a double-pole corner. However, for sharper turns—typically 45° to 90°—we recommend using a Corner Post for the best appearance and proper fence alignment.

How close can a Corner Post be to another fence pole?

For easier installation and future removal, Corner Posts should not be installed closer than 12 inches from an adjacent fence pole.
