Step-by-Step Guide: Removing & Reinstalling Your Pool Fence
Introduction
Your All-Safe removable pool fence provides peace of mind, but there may be times when you need to temporarily remove and reinstall it. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth process.
Removing Your Pool Fence
Step 1: Start with the Gate
- Open the gate and stand in the opening to prevent it from closing.
- Locate the eye installed by the installer—it should be in a horizontal position when the gate and fence are properly set up.
- Use the Quick Link to turn the eye to a vertical position, then detach the Quick Link.
- Slide the eye out of the slot in the Rectangular Bracket.
Step 2: Remove the First Pole
- Remove the first pole connected to the gate and set it aside.
- The Gate Truss will lean at a three-degree angle—simply slide it out of the deck sleeve.
- Repeat this process for the other side of the gate.
Step 3: Detach Wall Attachments & Termination Points
- Disconnect any wall attachments or other termination points before continuing.
Step 4: Separate Fence Sections
- Use the section latch to disconnect each fence section.
- If you have the New Quick Lock Latch, simply unlock it for a quicker process.
- If you don’t have this latch yet, consider upgrading—it simplifies the entire process.
Step 5: Mark Your Fence for Easy Reinstallation
- Use a paint pen or silver Sharpie to mark the bottom inside of the first and last pole in each section.
- Avoid using tape, as it can leave sticky residue and look unsightly.
Step 6: Remove and Roll the Fence Properly
- Remove the first pole in the section and roll the fence toward the next pole.
- Continue this process, always rolling neatly.
- Do not pile up the fence—this can lead to tangling, wrinkles, and difficulty storing it properly.
Step 7: Handling Curved Sections
- When connected, curved fence poles should be straight.
- When disconnected, they will angle outward.
- Remove and reinstall the poles at the same angle they were originally drilled.
Step 8: Removing a Corner Post
- Roll up each side of the fence toward the Corner Post.
- Remove the Corner Post last.
Step 9: Insert Deck Caps
- To keep your deck clean and prevent tripping hazards, insert deck caps into the empty deck sleeves.
Step 10: Store the Fence Correctly
- Store fence section rolls upright to prevent damage.
- Do not lay them on the ground—rodents may crawl inside and chew the mesh, causing damage.
Reinstalling Your Pool Fence
Step 1: Remove Deck Caps
- Use a flathead screwdriver or your fingernail to remove the deck caps.
Step 2: Install the Corner Post
- Since the Corner Post is drilled at a sharper angle to absorb tension, it must be reinstalled correctly.
- Place it back in at the correct angle before inserting the other fence poles.
Step 3: Reinstall Fence Sections
- Insert each fence pole back into its original position.
- Ensure that each section is aligned with your original layout.
Step 4: Reconnect Termination Points
- Reattach wall attachments and any other termination points before installing the gate.
Step 5: Reinstall the Gate
- Set aside the fence poles immediately to the right and left of the gate for now.
- Insert the Gate Trusses into the deck sleeves at a 3-degree angle, ensuring they sit flush with the deck.
- Once the Gate Trusses are in place, insert the two remaining fence poles.
Step 6: Secure the Gate Connection
- Pull the Gate Truss and fence post together, then insert the eye back into its original position.
- Hook the Quick Link onto the eye and screw it closed.
- Turn the eye to the horizontal position to lock it in place.
Step 7: Check Gate Functionality
- Open and release the gate to test if it closes and latches properly.
- If the gate is not closing correctly, refer to our article: “How to Adjust Your Pool Fence“.
