How to Order a Gate Latch Key

Have you lost or misplaced they key to your pool gate latch? Ordering a new key is easy. Not sure which latch you have? No worries! Read below to identify your gate latch and order a new key today.

What Brand of Gate Latch is installed on your Pool Fence Gate?

The quickest way to order a new gate key is to know which gate latch is installed on your pool fence gate. Read the descriptions below and review the photos of the options that are on the market. We offer replacement keys for all the latches listed below.

D&D Technologies – Magna Latch

D&D Technologies Magna Latch. There are several model types offered by D&D Technologies:

Magna Latch – S2 Model

D&D’s S2 Gate Latch was offered up until 2018. If your pool fence was installed around that time or prior, you more then likely have this latch installed. The keyhole is located underneath the latch pull. This is a special key that cannot be duplicated and must be ordered every time. The key are imprinted with the number #62462 on the back and D&D imprinted on the front. Latches were made in Black and White and all lathes are keyed alike.

Magna Latch – S3 Model

This is the latest model of D&D’s Gate Latches. This latch has the key lock on the front face of the gate latch. A red indictor on the front will also let you know if the latch is locked or unlocked. The keys for this latch can be duplicated by your local locksmith or hardware store. The keys look like your common household key. Latches are available in Black and White and all latches are keyed alike.

Magna Latch – Alert

Magna Latch Alert is the Alarm version of the S3 model. This set off not only a loud beeping when opened, but also flashes yellow. The key lock is on the front of the latch and also has a red dot showing you when the gate latch is locked and unlocked. The key for this latch is the same as the S3 model and can be duplicated at your local hardware store or by a locksmith. All latches are keyed alike.

SafeTech Hardware

SafeTech has been in the pool safety & gate hardware business since 2016 and is another common latch alternative to D&D’s gate latch options.

Tri-Latch

TriLatch latches have the key lock on the bottom front face of the latch mechanism and they keys can be duplicated. However, there are two versions of the tri-latch and the keys are not interchangeable so you need to identify which latch you have in order to purchase the correct key.

SL-50-TRI-90L

If your installation was during 2023/24 or prior, you potentially may have a “90L” latch installed. You can identify your latch type by looking at your striker body for an alignment marker. If there is NO alignment marker, you have a “90L”.

SL-50-TRI-90 (introduced 2023/2024)

This latch was introduced 2023/2024. You can tell if you have a “90” latch if your striker body has an alignment marker (shown below). If you do not have an alignment marker, you have the previous latch, “90L”, installed.

Color Variations

Colors on your screen or brochure may not match the actual color of your product.

Due to the many variations in monitors, phones, and browsers, color samples and product examples may appear different on different screens. Computers and mobile devices are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. The same is true for printed items such as brochures and other sales literature. 

In addition, the colors of our products photograph differently under different lighting conditions. For example, photos taken in full sunlight will vary from photos taken on a cloudy or overcast day. Similarly, shadows from nearby objects can affect the color and transparency of our products. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Colors will vary from batch to batch.

Many of our products’ materials are not available through typical stores and vendors and therefore must be custom manufactured specifically for our use. In order to control costs and provide you with the best value possible, our raw materials are produced in large batches and can often take several months to receive. The colors of our materials can, and often do, vary slightly from batch to batch. Although we make every effort to minimize color variations, we cannot be responsible for these differences when they occur. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Color names are subjective and may not be what you think the color should be.

For example, we use the name “putty” to describe some of our products. Your idea of the color “putty” may be different than someone else’s idea of “putty”. In addition, products may have the same color name but may not be the exact same color. For example, we have different shades of “black”. Please do not order using color names as your only guide. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

If it is important that your product be an exact color or shade, it is highly recommended that you inspect the actual product prior to its installation and address any concerns with your local independent installer. Most independent installers do not offer refunds or accept returns due to color variations.
