Installation Steps
Installing fence in a paver deck can be intimidating at first but with a little good information and the right tools, you can be confident in a good install.
How is a Paver Deck Constructed?
Before you drill and drive the PVC sleeves into the deck, take some time to understand how a paver deck is constructed and be cautious of water, electrical, and drain pipes.
Gather your tools
Depending on the type of pool fence pole you’re installing, gather the appropriate tools listed below. For paver installations, we do not recommend using a hammer drill. Instead, we suggest using a wet core drill with the corresponding bit shown below, based on the pole type you’re drilling for.
For a 1 inch fence you will need 1 inch schedule 40 grey PVC and use a 1 ⅜ inch core drill bit.
For a peg style fence, you will need ½ inch schedule 80 grey PVC and use a ⅞ inch core drill bit.
Installation location
To avoid cracking and breaking the pavers, you should try to layout your fence in a seam between two pavers. It’s not always possible to control, but the seam or the middle of the paver would be the best placement
Check your drilling angles
Take the time to check your drilling angles. You will want to exaggerate any angled hole by one or one and a half degree.
Drill your Holes
Hammer in PVC
You will hammer the PVC in until it stops.
Cut any excess PVC & push down
If you have excess PVC, you can cut it off and finish it off with a sleeve driver.
Install Fence
Now that you have the PVC sleeves in the deck, you can install the fence as usual.
