Step-by-Step: Replacing a Pool Fence Pole
Watch our how-to video or follow the instructions below to replace a damaged or bent pole:
Tools You’ll Need:
- Cordless Drill
- #2 Square Drive Bit
- Replacement Pole
- Putty knife or flathead screwdriver for stubborn sections (optional)
Instructions:
1. Lay the Fence Flat (optional) or Leave Installed and in Place
Unclip the section from neighboring panels and lay it on the ground with the damaged pole facing up.
2. Remove the Section Screws
Use your #2 square bit to remove all screws. These screws keep the pole secured to the mesh. Continue to remove all screws from the pole.

3. Remove the Pole
Once all the screws are out, your molding strip should pull away from the mesh and pole. If it feels stuck, use a putty knife to gently loosen the mesh from the pole.

4. Slide On the New Pole
Slide the pole into place and line up molding strip holes with the new pole holes.

5. Reinsert the Section Screw
Once aligned, insert a new section screws through the pre-drilled molding holes near the top of the pole and at the base to secure the mesh in place and then fill in middle screw hole locations.

6. Reinstall the Section (if removed in Step 1)
Pop the pole back into the deck sleeve and reconnect the section to your fence.

Why Aren’t Broken Poles Covered by Warranty?
Broken poles are typically caused by:
- Improper removal or pulling at the mesh instead of the pole
- Dropping or stepping on the pole
- Damage during installation into concrete or sleeves
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects, but accidental damage or misuse falls outside of coverage. Thankfully, replacement is affordable and straightforward.
