What is a “Peg” Pole?
A Peg Pole comes with a ½ Inch Stainless Steel Peg inserted into a hollow 1 Inch in Diameter Pole. The ½ Inch Stainless Steel Peg measures 3.75 Inches from the bottom tip to the base of the pole (and goes up into the inside of the pole), the 1 inch diameter pole measures 49.75 inches, for a total of 53.5 inches in length. The peg pole fits into any 5/8 Inch Deck Sleeve. Poles come with a standard Tan Deck Sleeve & Deck Plug. Alternate sleeve & plug colors can be purchased, if you prefer {sold separately}.
If your pole does not have a ½ Inch stainless steel peg, you more than likely have a 1 inch pole and not a peg pole. See our 1 Inch Pole options.
Is it easy to replace a pole?
Yes. You just remove the screws and molding strip from your existing fence. Remove the old pole and put the new one in its place. Put the molding strip back on the pole and reattach with the screws. The new pole comes with all new parts in case you need to replace anything else along the way. If you are replacing more than one pole, do one pole at a time.
Why is a 4 foot fence pole not 4 feet tall?
Many of us refer to the fence mesh height when talking about replacement parts. If you have a 4 foot fence, that means the mesh height of your fence measures 4 feet (48 inches). The Poles have to be longer than the height of the mesh to account for the pole being inserted into the ground and the extra pole at the top of your fence for the pole cap.
Will your pole work with my fence from another company?
In most cases, if you have a peg pole you are replacing and the stainless steel peg measures ½ inch in diameter, it should work. If your pole length varies you can always cut the pole down or order a shorter pole. You can also email our office a photo of the part you need, and we can assist you with locating a match.
