Pool Fence Gate Post

Pool Fence Gate Posts provide the support structure for your self-closing pool fence gate. This listing includes individual gate posts only and does not include the gate frame, hinges, latch, or installation hardware.

Choose from Double Round, Double Square, or Rectangular gate post styles to match your installation. While all three styles are designed to support a self-closing gate, the Rectangular Gate Post can also be used as a terminating support post when your pool fence cannot be attached to a structural wall or post. It’s an excellent solution for installations next to glass fencing, windows, decorative walls, or other locations where a wall attachment isn’t possible but a concrete deck is available for installation.

Each Self-Closing Gate installation requires 2 gate posts. Posts are sold individually.

Description

Self-Closing Gate Post Options for Pool Fencing

Self-Closing Gate Posts provide the structural support required for your pool fence gate. Available in Double Round, Double Square, and Rectangular styles, these posts are designed to work with All-Safe self-closing pool fence gates and are sold individually. Every gate installation requires two matching gate posts.

Choosing the Right Gate Post

Rectangular Gate Post (Standard All-Safe Design)

The Rectangular Gate Post is All-Safe’s standard gate post for self-closing pool fence gates. It is the most versatile option and is available in both Classic smooth and Ultra textured paint finishes to match your fence. In addition to supporting a self-closing gate, it can also be used as a terminating support post when your fence cannot be attached to a structural wall or post.

Double Round Gate Post

Double Round Gate Posts are commonly used with many other removable pool fence brands. We offer these posts for customers matching an existing installation or those who simply prefer the round design. Double Round Gate Posts are available in the Classic smooth paint finish only.

Double Square Gate Post

Double Square Gate Posts are also commonly used by other pool fence manufacturers and are available in the Ultra textured paint finish only. Many customers find the Double Square design slightly easier to install than the Rectangular style, making it a popular choice for new installations.

If you’re replacing an existing gate post, we recommend choosing the same style that’s already installed so your new post matches your current gate and hardware. If you’re unsure which post you need, send us a few photos and we’ll be happy to help identify the correct replacement.

Why Choose Rectangular Posts?

Rectangular Posts are not only a classic choice for pool security fence gates but can also serve as a terminating post. This is especially useful when your pool fence needs to end at a wall or structure that isn’t reinforced enough to hold the fence tension. Because terminating posts must resist the tension of the fence, they are designed to be installed in a concrete deck and cannot be used in dirt or grass installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which gate post should I choose?

Rectangular Gate Posts are the standard All-Safe gate posts and our most versatile option. They are available in both Classic smooth and Ultra textured paint finishes and are used on most new All-Safe self-closing gate installations.

Double Round Gate Posts are commonly used by other removable pool fence manufacturers and are available in the Classic smooth paint finish only.

Double Square Gate Posts are also commonly used by other manufacturers and are available in the Ultra textured paint finish only. Many customers find the Double Square design slightly easier to install than the Rectangular style.

If you’re replacing an existing gate post, we recommend choosing the same style that’s already installed. If you’re unsure which post you need, send us a few photos and we’ll be happy to help.

How many gate posts do I need?

Every self-closing pool fence gate requires two gate posts—one on each side of the gate frame.

Gate posts are sold individually, so you’ll need to purchase a quantity of two for a complete gate installation.

Can gate posts be installed in dirt or grass?

No. Self-closing gate posts should not be installed directly into dirt or grass. The gate posts must withstand the constant tension created by the self-closing hinges and latch, and soil alone cannot provide the strength and stability needed for safe, long-term operation.

If you’re installing a self-closing gate where there is no existing concrete deck, we recommend pouring a concrete pad large enough to support both gate posts and the gate opening. This provides a solid foundation for the gate hardware and ensures the gate will open, close, and latch properly.

Once the concrete has cured, the gate posts can be installed using the appropriate deck sleeves and hardware.

When should I use a Rectangular Gate Post?

The Rectangular Gate Post is All-Safe’s standard gate post for self-closing pool fence gates. In addition to supporting a gate, it can also be used as a terminating support post when your fence cannot be attached to a structural wall or post.

When used as a terminating post, it must be installed into a concrete deck and cannot be used in dirt or grass installations.

Do the gate posts include everything I need?

Each gate post includes the components required for that individual post configuration, including the appropriate deck sleeve, deck plug, and post cap.

Rectangular Gate Posts also include the Rectangular Post Bracket Kit, allowing them to be used as either a self-closing gate post or a terminating support post.

Please note that gate posts are sold individually. The gate frame, hinges, latch, and second gate post are sold separately.

Will these work with my existing pool fence?

Yes, but the correct gate post depends on how you’re using it.

  • Replacing an existing gate post? We recommend choosing the same gate post style that’s already installed so it matches your existing gate and hardware. If you’re unsure which style you have, send us a few photos and we’ll be happy to help identify it.
  • Installing a new self-closing gate? You can choose whichever gate post style best fits your project. Rectangular, Double Round, and Double Square gate posts all support All-Safe self-closing gate frames.
  • Adding a terminating support post? If you need to terminate your fence in a concrete deck where a wall attachment cannot be used, choose the Rectangular Gate Post. It includes the additional components needed for terminating a fence.

If you’re not sure which option is right for your installation, send us a few photos of your existing fence or project, and we’ll be happy to help you select the correct gate post.
