This is a complete standalone latch and hinge hardware kit for a new or existing pool gate. It includes the MagnaLatch, TruClose self-closing hinges, mounting hardware, safety cap and two keys. It does not include the gate frame or installation tools.

Yes. When properly installed and adjusted, the TruClose hinges make the gate self-closing, while the MagnaLatch automatically latches when the gate closes and can be locked with a key. The gate must be properly aligned and tested to confirm that it closes and latches consistently.
Yes. The hardware can be installed on either side based on the desired opening direction. Pool gates should always open outward, away from the pool area.
The D&D MagnaLatch and TruClose hinges are designed for pool-safety gates, but the hardware alone does not make the complete installation code compliant. The gate must be installed and adjusted correctly, including its height, opening direction, clearances, latch placement and ability to self-close and self-latch. Always confirm applicable local requirements before installation.
Yes. The TruClose hinge tension and MagnaLatch alignment can be adjusted to help the gate close and latch properly. The homeowner is responsible for periodically checking the gate and making adjustments when needed. Never prop a pool gate open, as repeated misuse, movement or normal settling can affect its alignment. The gate should always be tested to ensure it self-closes and securely latches from different open positions.
