The Round Terminating Post Sleeve is used when installing a Round Terminating Post and you want the post to remain removable, just like the rest of your pool fence system.
The sleeve is permanently installed into the ground using concrete, creating a secure receiver for the terminating post. Once the concrete has cured, the post simply slides into the sleeve and can be removed whenever needed.
Without a sleeve, the terminating post must be set directly into concrete, creating a permanent installation that cannot be removed without excavation.
Many homeowners choose removable mesh pool fencing because it can be taken down for entertaining, landscaping projects, or seasonal use. Installing your terminating post directly into concrete eliminates that flexibility.
For best results, install the sleeve using a high-strength rapid-setting concrete such as Rapid Set® Concrete Mix or an equivalent product. The sleeve should be securely anchored in concrete and allowed to fully cure before inserting the terminating post.
Once installed, the sleeve remains permanently in place while the terminating post can be removed and reinstalled as needed.
Some customers prefer a permanent installation and do not plan to remove their fence. In those cases, the terminating post can be installed directly into concrete without a sleeve.
However, if there is any possibility that you may want to remove the fence in the future, we strongly recommend installing a Round Terminating Post Sleeve during the initial installation. It is significantly easier than converting a permanently installed post later.
