The D&D MagnaLatch® Series 3 Top Pull is a magnetic, key-lockable safety latch designed for swimming pool gates and other areas where child safety is important. Its elevated top-pull release helps position the opening mechanism out of reach of young children, while magnetic latching technology provides reliable engagement when the gate closes.
The Series 3 model includes a visible Locked/Unlocked indicator, a six-pin rekeyable lock, and vertical and horizontal alignment indicators that make installation and future adjustments easier. If the gate shifts or sags over time, the latch can be realigned to maintain proper operation.
Constructed from engineering-grade polymers and stainless-steel components, the MagnaLatch is designed for reliable outdoor use and performance in extreme climates. According to D&D Technologies, the Series 3 has been tested through two million operating cycles and is 50% stronger than previous models.
This model is designed for square gate frames and square posts measuring at least 1 inch wide. It is compatible with most aluminum, steel, ornamental iron, wood, and vinyl gates.
A separate adapter kit is required for compatible round-post or chain-link gate installations.
The MagnaLatch automatically engages after the gate closes, but it does not pull the gate closed. Pool gates require properly installed and adjusted self-closing hinges, which are sold separately.
The MagnaLatch is designed for pool and child-safety gate applications, but the complete gate installation must satisfy all applicable local requirements. Gate height, latch position, opening direction, clearances, and self-closing operation can all affect compliance.

Yes. The MagnaLatch Series 3 can be configured for a left- or right-swinging gate. For a pool barrier, the gate should pull open toward you and away from the pool—not push inward toward the pool area. The latch height, gate direction, and complete installation must comply with applicable local pool-barrier requirements.
The MagnaLatch Series 3 has a six-pin lock cylinder that can be rekeyed by a locksmith to match certain compatible household door locks. Compatibility depends on your existing key and lock type, so confirm with a locksmith before having it rekeyed.
The latch includes two Series 3 keys, and additional S3 replacement keys are available separately. Be sure to select Series 3 keys: older Series 2 MagnaLatches use a different lock configuration located underneath the latch body, while the Series 3 lock is front-facing.
Yes, the MagnaLatch Series 3 is designed for swimming pool and child-safety gate applications and meets applicable pool-gate standards when properly installed.
