Pool Nets FAQ

• An All-Safe pool net is a special type of cover designed specifically for the safety of young children. The netting material is made of strong polyethylene twine that is machine tied into 3½ inch squares. A child cannot crawl under it, or fall through it. It meets or exceeds all minimum requirements of the nationally recognized ASTM standard for pool safety covers
• Unlike most traditional pool covers, a safety net allows you a clear view of your pool water. This secure layer of safety has a low profile, thus preserving the aesthetics of your backyard. When it’s time to enjoy your pool, you simply roll the pool net onto a roller and set it aside.

• We use the very best materials available; including UV resistant virgin polyethylene netting, marine grade brass anchors, machine stamped stainless steel clips, and solid braided polyester rope for the tensioning device. We only install 5mm polyethylene netting. Many other companies offer 4mm or 3.5 mm netting. 5mm nets are made with 50% more material and are 30% stronger.
• All-Safe pool safety nets have been laboratory tested to comply with nationally recognized ASTM standard for swimming pool safety nets.
• All-Safe offers the largest selection of pool safety netting material in the industry. There are multiple color options, various anchor styles, tensioning choices and material thicknesses. • Pool safety nets have been used around the world for over 30 years with an impressive safety record. There has never been a reported drowning with a pool net properly in place. 
• Pool nets can hold up to 485 lbs of weight and create a physical barrier between the water and your child, which keeps the child suspended above the water. A child’s arms or legs may go through the openings, but their heads are too large to fit through the mesh squares. It is important that the safety net is placed back over the swimming pool after each use.

• Due to the pressure applied during the installation process, it’s impossible for a child to be able to remove the pool net. All-Safe has also created exclusive tools to assist in the installation and removal of a pool net. Without these tools, it would not be possible for a child to move the net from it’s installed position.

• The average range for a medium sized pool net is $1,000 to $3,000. The size, shape, and complexity of your pool or spa can affect the cost. Your choices in netting material, anchors, tensioning systems, and rollers can also impact the price. The onsite quote you receive will include all materials and installation.

• The independent dealer will be happy to provide you with a free quote. When you have made your decision, you can schedule an installation date directly with your local dealer.

Because every pool net is custom made, it is not possible to install a safety net for your swimming pool without a trained professional. Installation requires a special drill to place the anchors and for your technician to sew a central tension system in the proper location of the net on-site. Every All-Safe technician has years of experience, some even decades, and are trained to install your pool net quickly and efficiently.

• All-Safe can install a swimming pool net for most inground pools, spas, or water features, but some water features located in tough areas can make using pool nets difficult or even dangerous to use. If a side of the pool is inaccessible, installation may not be possible, but your local All-Safe dealer will provide you with other options during your free onsite estimate. 

• Pool safety net installations are typically completed in less than one day. You will meet with your technician prior to work beginning. After a final review and your approval, small holes about the size of a penny will be drilled into your deck approximately two to three feet apart. Anchors will be placed in the holes. The pool net material is stretched across the water, cut to the exact shape of your pool and the perimeter gets double wrapped. Your net is custom sized on-site.
• You are welcome to leave while the crew continues the installation but will need to be present when installation is finished so the crew can demonstrate how to properly remove and replace your new pool safety net.

• Removing and replacing your pool net is typically a fairly quick and simple process. For most of our customers, removing a swimming pool net takes about 10 minutes and replacing it takes around 15 minutes. For smaller water areas such as spas, this time is even less, with most people only taking as long as 5 minutes to remove and 7 minutes to replace. This time will vary depending on your pool’s size and shape, along with your access to the anchors. Your local technician will teach you how to remove and replace the safety net for your swimming pool when it is installed.

The main form of maintenance on pool nets would be ensuring that there are no tears and that proper tension is maintained. If either one of these issues arise, it’s best to get your pool net repaired immediately to ensure the safety of your family, should an incident arise. To avoid unnecessary wear and tear, make sure you properly store your pool net when it’s not in use, whether it’s on a roller or folded and placed in a storage bag.

• You’re still able to use most pool vacuums with a pool net installed. However, if you’re using a pool skimming device, you’ll need to remove the pool net. The good news is that a pool safety net takes less than 15 minutes to remove and replace!
• Pool maintenance can be done with the pool net in place. The openings in the pool net are big enough to fit a funnel to use for your chemicals.
