What is a Mesh Pool Fence?
Removable mesh pool fencing or temporary pool fencing is the most popular safety product for residential swimming pool safety. Mesh pool fences can be easily removed, are versatile and difficult to climb. These pool fences can be usedon almost every pool, spa, or water feature.
Removable mesh pool fences use tension to provide security. All-Safe Pool Fence & Covers standard fencing is set at 36 inch Pole Spacing and uses 15 foot Sections. All-Safe manufactures our products in the USA, so we can offer custom requests to suit any need. Our fence poles are made of aircraft grade aluminum and specially treated mesh that is extremely strong and resistant to tearing. Many customers also choose to include a self-closing, self-latching, lockable pool gate for added convenience and safety.
How safe is a Mesh Pool Fence?
All-Safe has been installing mesh pool fences for over 20 years and has never had a reported accident. Our tension based system prevents kids from being able to remove mesh pool fences themselves. Mesh pool fences are very difficult for children to climb, because there is nothing for them to put their feet on to support them over the fence. Mesh pool fencing is also accepted by most foster care, child adoption, and social services for pool safety in a home where a child is being placed. Removable fences are often used to meet residential building code requirements for home pool barriers.
*always check with your local inspector or agency before installing any barrier
How strong is All-Safe mesh fence?
All-Safe mesh pool safety fences use the strongest and most tested materials and components in the industry. We offer the 2 strongest poles available when measured by break strength and mesh material that cannot be torn under normal circumstances. While pool fences are strong they are not indestructible. If enough force hits a pole at the right point a pole can bend or break. In our 25 years of installing removable pool fencing none of our poles have broken due to a child. In general poles break when adults hit high on a pole at a high speed, causing it to bend or break. The mesh material can be cut with a sharp object such as a knife or scissors. Both the mesh and poles can be repaired if damaged.
All references to breaking strength refer to internal testing that was done as unbiased as possible. To learn more talk to an estimator today to learn what we put into every product we sell.
How much does a pool fence cost?
The average cost for a pool fence is $1,500 – $2,500 which includes installation and materials. A common misconception is that the price is based solely on how many linear feet of fence is needed. Footage of fence is just one of many things we have to consider when pricing your pool fence. Other factors include height, number of gates, what surface the fence is being installed into (pavers, dirt, grass) if the surface is sloped or flat, layout and components needed to achieve installation. Does the pool fence include a gate?
Although not required, most families do opt to include a gate with their pool fence installation. Our gates are self-closing, self-latching, lockable, giving the best results. This allows you to conveniently walk in and out of a hinged gate without having to pull out poles and undo the fence line to access the pool area. The gate will self-close and latch (when properly tensioned) and also includes the ability to lock the gate latch with a key.
If you choose to not have a self-closing, self-latching, lockable gate installed, an opening anywhere in the fence can be made at your request. This opening is referred to as a manual opening. Due to the natural tension of the fence, manual openings can be difficult for some customers to unlatch. To assist in opening and releasing this tension, All-Safe EZ-Close handles are a unique component that can be added on during installation or at a later date.
