How a Leaf Cover Works

Blue leaf cover pulled tight over a rectangular pool on a flagstone deck

Tightly knit material

The polyethylene knit stops leaves and debris but lets rain drain through, so water doesn't pool on top.

Sewn border with grommets

A sewn border with grommets lets the cover stretch tight and attach around the edge of your pool.

Anchored to your deck

It attaches to brass anchors set in your deck, the same anchor system a pool safety net uses.

How Your Leaf Cover Is Made and Installed

Every leaf cover is cut to fit your pool and finished by All-Safe, start to finish. From measuring to install usually takes a week or two, depending on shipping times and when your installer can come out to cut it to fit and come back to put it on.

Putting It On and Taking It Off

Most people take it off or put it back on in about 5 to 15 minutes, without much strength or any tools.

Over a safety net

  1. Unroll the leaf cover over your net.
  2. Hook its bungee straps (with round rings) onto the cone head clips your net already uses.
  3. Take it off whenever you like. The net stays on year-round, and the leaf cover is an easy on-and-off layer.

On its own

  1. Brass keyhole anchors are set in your deck around the pool.
  2. Each bungee strap has a cone head clip that locks into an anchor.
  3. To take it off, unclip the bungees and roll or fold the cover.

Caring for Your Leaf Cover

  • Clear leaves off the top with a blower or a brush. Keep gas blower exhaust off the fabric.
  • Roll it or fold it for storage, whichever you prefer.
  • The fabric is lighter than a safety cover because it's made to catch debris, so handle it gently.
  • Backed by a 1-year limited product warranty. Warranty details →

Leaf covers are porous, so they don't keep heat in or cut evaporation. For that, look at a mesh safety cover or an automatic cover.

Leaf Pool Cover FAQ

How much does a leaf pool cover cost?

Leaf covers start at $1,500 installed, and most run $1,700 to $2,500. Your price depends on the size and shape of your pool.

Is a leaf cover a safety cover?

Not on its own. Installed over a pool safety net, the net underneath helps add an extra layer of protection.

Can I add a leaf cover over my pool net?

Yes. It clips onto the same anchors and cone head clips your All-Safe® net already uses.

How long does it take to get one?

Usually a week or two. Your installer cuts the cover to fit at your pool, it ships to All-Safe for the finished border, then ships back for install, so timing depends on shipping and your installer's schedule.

Does a leaf cover work on an above-ground pool?

Our leaf covers are made for inground pools.

What colors are available?

Black and blue.

How do I take a leaf cover off to swim?

Unclip its bungee straps and roll or fold it off. Over a net, the net stays on. Most people take it off or put it back on in 5 to 15 minutes.

What warranty comes with a leaf cover?

A 1-year limited product warranty on materials and workmanship. See the All-Safe warranty page for details.
